GERT DE GRAAF WE THINK RESIN’S FOUNDER
OUR HISTORY, WHAT DRIVES US, AND WHAT WE THINK
Our resin flooring journey started in The Netherlands, where a carpenter’s son started his lifelong career in resin flooring.
Apprenticed to his father, Gert de Graaf learned more than Carpentry, he was indoctrinated with the personal traits his father held dear, honesty, loyalty, respect for his work, his environment, his clients and his staff.
As an artisan with an eye for detail, Gert was attracted by the challenges of the new market developing for Resin Flooring in The Netherlands. He added broad experience in the application of a wide range of Resin systems to his skill set while the UK was only just beginning to become aware of the opportunities these new systems offered. The quality ethic and desire to exceed his client’s expectations instilled by his father meant he was soon sort after for prestigious residential and commercial projects.
Gert proceeded into management and before long his ambition and work ethic meant creating his own company was inevitable. Opening his showroom within a year, he broadened his product offering to include cutting edge sports floors and industrial flooring systems which brought him to the attention of the EPI Group and soon became one of the best Resin Flooring Contractors in Greater London. Though their regular collaboration, it was apparent that both companies shared the same ethos and their friendship and professional partnership flourished.
Attracted by the opportunities offered by the emerging UK market, Gert and his family relocated, and he commenced his new life as a Technical Manager working in central London where he shared his skills and experience. After two years, driven by his desire for uncompromising quality, Gert decided to open his own company and We Think Resin was born. His 20 years collaboration with the EPI Group could continue and together through their shared values they can guarantee a level of installation quality and customer service previously unknown in the UK.

Based in Houten, in The Netherlands, EPI operates their own modern 250m2 research laboratory combined with a 7000m2 production facility and are committed to investing in efficient manufacturing processes, having recently spent in excess of 3million in a state-of-the-art bespoke blending plant enabling them to provide the most energy efficient manufacturing process.
BS EN 9001 quality control procedures incorporated into every step of the manufacturing process ensure finished products meet published functional and application standards together with batch colour control, which is essential when you produce over 4000 colours!
The collaboration between We Think Resin and EPI delivers the combined experience and quality standards needed to ensure an optimum installation.
